Philter is the creation of Phil Donald, a one man band from Manchester who wanted to build monumental works with as many synthesisers as he could. Eventually he realised he was gonna struggle if he used more than 12 synths simultaneously. Even with 12, there was a struggle so he learned to compromise and allowed the music to dictate to a certain degree. The pieces composed took on a new character thereafter, probably for the better.........though I want to use more synths again
There is far too much biographical detail involved to go into here but I've been doing music for over 20 years now and I've got a rough idea of what goes where. As time goes by, I'll add more to these pages. Currently though, all this nonsense is preventing the composition of Minimal Cheese 2 and other projects and that will never do.
Look round the site. Seek me out elsewhere. http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/philter is a good place to start. Extracts from the album Minimal Cheese can be heard there as well as here though the sound quality is better here. Currently, the only place to physically purchase the album is at CDBaby. Though the album will soon be available as a download.
Thanks for dropping by and having a look around. You're most welcome here anytime.
Cheers
Phil
