Planets and Atmospheres

Almost finished the tracks. Only rudimentary mixing thus far. However, I've included here a minute from each track as they stand right now. There are 14 in all but I plan on including a prelude and a postlude. Looks like being a massive work..........

Here's the link: http://soundcloud.com/philter1/p-a-montage

Enjoy

Phil(ter)

New album, work in progress.

I've been writing new material for the forthcoming album "Planets and Atmospheres". The basic idea is that I write a musical interpretation of the planets but I decided to do that and interpret what the surface/atmosphere of the planets would be also. Mercury, for example, will be very hot and likely lots of molten rock noises. From a distance, the planet will look very fiery and the music should reflect that.

Anyway, here are some of the works in progress. The title track has a crowd of people stood around waiting for the rocket to take off, I threw in a few animal noises too and a host of cameras.

http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=11176875

Mercury: http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=11176878

Mercury Atmosphere: http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=11176882

The tracks are far from complete in a mixing sense but I'll sort those in due course. I'm working towards album completion 1st quarter 2012.

Cheers

Phil

:D It appears I've been writing blogs for months and I've been the only one able to read them :D

I should have checked the settings maybe? :) Anyway, what there is of them are now here for your amusement. I hope you enjoy them.

Not much news at the moment. Lots of visitors to the site and a few subsequent sales via iTunes. I'm thinking about doing a video but they're so time consuming and expensive. I'm sure I'll figure out a way of doing one without taking out a huge bank loan...........

Thanks for reading. Speak to you all again soon 8)

Cheers

Phil

The Dome of Clement is now available at iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/tang/id431755623?i=431755688

and at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004VUSXQ8/ref=dm_sp_alb

Many thanks to those that have purchased the album (and downloads) already, you rock 8)

The Dome of Clement is finally available :)

It's taken a while but the album is now out there in the real (and virtual) world. The album is available as CD or download here: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/philter2#

If you buy the CD it might be worth considering buying the CD without the jewel case as that will save you a few bucks in postage fees. Most folk have a spare jewel case hanging around at home anyway. Like I said, worth considering.

Cheers

Philter

Album now mastered :)

The new album "The Dome of Clement" has been mastered at Trillium, Quebec, Canada. It sounds excellent. All the artwork is done and printed. There's been a slight snag with the CD duplication but I'm hoping to clear that up in the next few days. Then it's distribution time :)

I'll post more details as I get them.

Second album gets ever closer

As you can see from the main page, I've added a "New Album Extracts" page. Six of the tracks from the new album have been uploaded. I hope you enjoy them.

I'm currently looking for a mastering engineer for the album. It's a long process and several people who's work interests me have to be reduced down to just the one mastering studio. All being well I'll have this sorted in the next few weeks...........

Two years later

It's been 2 years now since Minimal Cheese was released. I'm amazed it's still selling but selling it is :) It's all very gratifying and I would personally like to thank all the people involved in the project and all those that saw fit to crash the cash and buy the thing.

What next? Well, I'm working on a new album that's miles down the road and another album called Atmospherics which is a little closer to release. I've actually been working on the other album today instead of the Atmospherics album. No idea what that means, probably that I'm a bit disorganised and lacking focus in certain areas. Oh well, it'll all come together sooner or later. More news as and when..............

Cheers

Philter
